Room for the River, Corporate Clip. The river will be given more room at more then 30 locations covered by the 'Room for the River' programme. The main objectives of this programme are to complete the flood protection measures by 2015 and to improve the overall environmental quality in the river region.

What an excellent example of SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY and PUBLIC SERVICE ... What a good example of correctness, citizenship, proactivity and professionalism of authorities, businessmen and citizens in general. What envy ... (healthy envy, by the way)!
In contrast, in the country of CHILE (Southamerica), despite the incredible economic improvements of the last four decades, corruption has spread and deepened everywhere: drug trafficking, influence peddling, defrauding state monies, abandoning duties ... all very difficult crimes to prove in CHILE. This, in large part, thanks to what is established by the miserable and extemporaneous current legislation. This corruption of some authorities, of many businessmen, of the majority of politicians and of thousands of officials "accomplices" ("active accomplices" and also "passive accomplices") has prevented to realize so many development works, such as dams (to accumulate waters), etc.
Over the high costs of carrying out such large enterprises in CHILE, the great absentee, the origin and the final cause of the problems is the MORAL of its elite. It is their lack of WILL to dedicate scarce resources (especially those in the power of the State) to actions of social good, and NOT to the pockets of politicians and businessmen, and their groups of relationships and interests. This would also explain why CHILE is considered by experts in the subject as a "FAILED State"!
What a lesson for corrupt countries! What a lesson for CHILE! And what an envy!
CONGRATULATIONS to all the Dutch, for the nation that each of its citizens has been building up to today!

This is a waste of freshwater. Just making it flow faster to get out of places, will cause more and quicker erosion, while wasting the freshwater by just dumping it into the ocean to become saltwater. There need to be more designs to better allow INFILTRATION, to replenish the freshwater aquifers, and provide social services such as clean drinking water, and potable water for other things such as irrigation, and other basic needs. The idea for the TEMPORARY CATCHMENT AREAS, to open when needed is a good idea, that also creates habitat and suitable living conditions for MORE TREES. Think of yourself when you get out of the shower. Think of all the water dripping off your body. Now think of a tree with tons and tons of leaves and branches. We need to be replenishing our soils, and creating more room for habitat. REUSE YOUR WATER.
