Love how you snuck the $750 mic in the end lmao

I think it's much easier to get a nice clean sound from a small cheap rig but once you go into overdrive things go really bad really quick

I own a cheap guitar package, seriously clunky out of the box needing adjustment and gluing of a loose strap hook. It's settled into being a pretty nice unit, tone is acceptable and even holds tune fairly well.

Mic cost was already mentioned, but mic placement matters a lot too. Depending on where you put the mic, and what sort of mic you use, you can get pretty different sounds out of the same amp setting and guitar.

Also don't forget the value of a good setup.

Doesn't matter if you buy an expensive handcrafted Japanese chef's knife if you don't bother to sharpen it.

Really makes the ‘it’s the player, not the equipment’ stand out.

Edit: Christ dudes, I saw the thing at the end of the video. That doesn’t undermine that he is a great player though.

I started playing back in the late 80’s early 90’s and I can say without a doubt the “cheap” things today are 1000% better than the cheap shit back then. Guitars like squire are built with sooo much better quality today. Now there’s no doubt a high end guitar plays better but a $100 guitar today plays like a $1000 guitar from 25 years ago.

Damn that reverb is lush bet that either was added in post or cost way more than $80 also that compressor sounded really great as well

I love how at the end it just says "Mic $750"

A hobby of mine is buying cheap guitars second hand and setting them up. Doing the frets & nut then adjusting the guitar to factory specs and my own preferences.
The cheapest guitars are most often strats.
I've never had one that once set up wasn't very stable as far as tuning goes. And that's with a full floating trem.
Action always ends up on the lower side of fender's specs. They play absolutely fine.
As far as their sound goes, it's amazing to me how different each guitar sounds compared to all others. I've had tens of strats now and they're all unique sounding. Having said that, I've never had two of the same model guitar. So I've never had two 2010 Squires of the same model for instance. The same batch. I presume they would sound identical to each other.

As usual from Seiji-San, sound good and clean.
0:31 $750 mic makes us hear 99% of the actual sound of a cheap guitar+cheap amplifier+cheap cable.
I wonder the camera price he uses to make this video.

I just recently got into playing guitar, probably about a year ago. I wanted to learn and teach myself so I was telling my buddies I want to get an acoustic well my friend said he had a really cheap one he’s give to me so I was like cool! Played that for a while until i broke a string and didn’t want to get it fixed lol but a couple months go by, my sisters boyfriend got her a really nice Yamaha acoustic and we both played that thing for about a year. I felt like I was getting better, and I really wanted to dabble with electric. So i broke down one day, saved some money and ordered a Fender bullet Squier, in clamshell pink because I’m a fan of pink lol. Got the cheapest 50$ fender amp with it and i’ve been learning songs and trying to teach myself tricks and chords these past couple months. I got to say, music has changed my life and for the better. Great video man, gives me inspiration to be able to play just like that

Nice!!👍 Just goes to show what I've always said - It's not the fiddle. It's the fiddler!! Good fiddlin'!! Really good.👍

Saw this regularly in the studio. Ex: a band known for using a metric ton of Orange amps at violent volumes came in and we plugged them all into these tiny pignose amps. They distorted incredibly and no one had to die or lose their hearing.

The player and the correct setup for the player is honestly the most important thing here!
And I actually preferred the sound of this guitar than some other way too expensive guitars lol
