Outback Touring with 2.5 non turbo.
38 mpg on hwy . Best part it's most comfortable with everything you need .
No need to buy anything else.

Outback touring is better to me. Although they are about same MSRP, I don't like the look of Forester, it's more like Ford Explorer, I also don't like its leather seat mix brown and black colors. Forester doesn't have power folding side mirrors and (for some folks) doesn't have an option for XT engine. On the plus side, Forester have 360 camera view which Outback doesn't offer and Forester is still Made in Japan.
I decided and bought a brand new 2024 Outback touring (non XT) instead of 2025's because I got a better deal and 2.9% /72mo. financing.
My Outback touring is a white pearl, brown leather interior which is my favorite combined colors, drive out the door for $41K, AND, this is my first Subaru car ever in my life.

I wouldn't spend over $40K on a compact Subaru. Stick to the lower trims.
