Airbus are trying as hard as they possibly can to dominate the single-aisle medium-haul commercial flight market and that’s why they have revealed plans to release a larger dual-sourced engine-selection variant of their relatively new but troubled A220 line-up called the A220-500 or NEO as they intend to turn things up a notch. The A220NEO is expected to replace Airbus’s ageing A320 line-up and properly compete in the same airspaces as Boeing’s 737MAX.

To understand why the A220Neo will replace the 737MAX, we need to first get a brief introduction to the A220 line-up so we can have an idea of what the A220NEO will be bringing.

The best plane for knee bruises is a sardine-can seat arrangement in the A220-neo .
It makes me love my fond memories of peanuts, pretzels and AOL CDs, which all tasted the same on North-Worst airlines in the 90's.
But they had lots of leg/headroom in those L1011's plus a free deck of playing cards.

Condor's A220neo had dual walkways not single. thus 3-5-3 seating


Also, the BT and WiFi was not working. The movie service was boring.

I wonder if they tried to increase the max seating capacity from 200 to a 220. All seats were 100% sold.

There are no problems with the A220 that Pratt & Whitney can't fix. I've taught the jet since 2018. It is NOT "Bomb bar deer" either.

It is a brainer…..I’ve already talked to DL Mechs and parts are hard to get, has its growing issues like any new acft and it’s one option on Pratt engines. Unless United Tech can get its shit together and fig out there engine plus be able to supply parts to its customers…..till then, your better off waiting for a Max. Now, if SOMEHOW AIRBUS can straighten the A220 out quick fast and start supplying parts….they can take market share. Time will tell
