“Discovered these stores” tell me you’re wealthy, without telling me you’re wealthy. We grew up having to go to these stores. The only difference is that now it’s cool.

I have some clothing that is from 20 years ago and the quality from 2004 is 100 times better than anything from today.

This is not new at all. Everyone has been doing this since early 2000s. But, we got more people cause of this economy.

I used to work at Burlington. Those designer brands make cheap versions of their clothes to be sold specifically at those stores. They're badly made but at least it's better than online shopping.

I remember in the 80's and the 90's when these stores sold the better items and it was always good to get that rare find. It was a hit or miss when you would be hitting more Now, it more of a mis than hit

I was at TJMaxx and Ross today. The selection honestly isn't very good at either, especially if you're shopping for a tween girl. I ended up just buying what I needed at Walmart, but it certainly wasn't what I wanted. Being poor really doesn't leave you with a lot of fun options, especially if you live in a small town like I do.

I used to work out Marshalls and still love buying almost all my stuff from there! Out of all the bargain stores they trully carry the best selection of everything and them some! Love them! ❤

Discount stores and garage sales, I really don't care about designer brands.

🙄 Duh… our moms have been shopping in there since we were kids. My daughter is Gen Z and she knows I’m not buying no expensive clothes!

Great! Now Marshall's and Ross are going to be as expensive as the outlet stores because people "discovered" them. I miss the days when people were too embarrassed to thrift and go to Ross.

So I guess BigLots needed a better social media campaign collab with influencers.

I used to work for a chemical company, specifically a chemical company that was known for making chemicals used to create fabrics. Like polyester. The same fabrics that the Delta flight attendants had massive reactions to when their new uniforms were issued a few years back. When I walk into one of those stores, it smells like that. It smells like chemicals.

I know and I go shopping at Marshall’s, Burlington, Five Below, Macy’s, and more because of high inflation. It is addictive but one thing for those discount store is buy low, sell high.

They’re catching on tho… knocking off a couple dollars and calling it discounted with an already inflated price is hardly a discount store. Look at goodwill now.
