We shopped around for quite a while before we decided to purchase the Longmill 30" x 30" Longmill CNC from Scienci Labs.

We made a list of criteria we needed to convince us to buy a CNC.

the Longmill checked all of our requirements.

In this video, we explain the 5 criteria that helped us make our choice.

Hey buddy, I am also based out of Ottawa. Just waiting for my MK2 to ship and get it all set up! For your software choice of VCarve.. It is definitely my top choice but the price is pretty steep(for Pro, Desktop isn't too bad). I'd want the pro version since it allows more than the 24"x24" of the desktop version. What made you pick that over the others? Simply lack of features compared to the others, or was it ease of use? Did you get Pro or Desktop? I am at the stage of deciding on software as well and hoping not the break the bank, but also don't want to waste my money on something that won't work for my needs in the long run. Looking forward to more videos.

PS. I am new to the area and looking for a good supplier of hardwood and baltic birch plywood. Only 2 I've seen are TheWoodSource and KJB. Is there anywhere else in the area that is better/cheaper than those 2? Cheers

Great video. Edit out the "uhs" and "ahs" to save a bit of time and you've got a winner. Thanks for the info.
