That didn't occur to me that Michelle and Barack couldn't be with their daughters learning to drive. I remember Jerry Seinfeld bringing a cool car to the white house to do a comedy bit with Barack. They let the President drive the car but only on the grounds, not on the open road. Lol!

I've had a driving instructor who did the same with me. He was a former race pilot, and he said that it was important to know how to react in an unusual situation, like when your car is going 80km/h in a narrow street. It learnt a lot more this day than any other regular lesson.
