I’ve been working out for decades and my nephew who is 19, goes online to an influencer and gets a work out program! 25 sets for delts, 30 sets for abs… Blows my mind.

"Fat loss happens on a per needed bases" I haven't heard anyone else explain fat loss like that. Simple but really wise and helpful to realize. This has been true in my life, never lost any fat without eating a little less food.

I remenber when I was a kid, I was so proud of my 16" arms, and I was using a bunch of supplements from EAS and Biotest (some of them very expensive, like Methoxy-7). So one of my brother's friends drops by to play with my bro, and he sees my cabinet. He asks "what's all this stuff?" So I go "It stuff I use with my workouts", and I flex my bicep. So he goes "I have a friend who looks like that and doesn't use all that stuff".
Haha, wow, what a blow that was.

💯% agree about the online coaching part. It can be a very effective tool to train clients & help them achieve their goals, BUT most “fitness influencers” aren’t doing any coaching at all as they’re selling templates to hundreds of clients at a time. There is a real limit to how many people a trainer can work with online while still able to provide quality services (or any actual services at all).

I must say the saying "a sucker is born everyday" has never been so true as it has been in the fitness industry. Its crazy to me that with all the good info out there people just keeping buying into the BS. Smh

Great video, criticisms and advice, as per usual.

I watched a tips video from Dr Chris Tomlinson (Chief Medical Officer for Team GB gymnastics) and a full training video from Chris Sommer (Team USA gymnastics coach), and they both recommend a " recovery" snack or drink straight after your training session. I had a further look and a think, and I realised that they were talking specifically about elite level sports in general and elite gymnastics in particular, meaning that the gymnasts and other sportspeople don't just have one training session then leave for the day, they train 2/3/4 times a day, so their muscles are used a lot more than usual, so their muscles/tendons/ligaments have to be always repairing/recovering whenever they're not training, so they have to eat or drink as soon as possible.

This routine is very different to your average person's workout, and I think this misunderstanding is where the "anabolic window" belief comes from.
