God King feels like the ultimate Warhammer 40k esque bad ending to Garen, like if everything went so wrong that he becames a ultra powerfull tyrant while having every flaw diled up to maximum

I always love seeing the path not taken. So many characters could have become something completely different without changing who they are. Garen buying into all the things he serves and becoming the one passing down the orders and deciding whats right and wrong is absolutely perfect. Its one of those things you could see actually happening if the world was just a little different or if something went wrong.

Even better that God-king Darius is still a perfect counter to his character. The king so full of devotion he can't see the pain he causes versus the king whose only ever seen the outcome of blind loyalty and uses pain to end that blind loyalty.

God King Garen doesn't make you feel the concept of "Justice" in his Character. It shows you how "Justice is heartless, not blind."

I love the concept of this skin because it feels like the kind of legendary skin that actually functions as a continuation of the character, just in a slightly different set-up. Skins like Sentinel Vayne, Primetime Draven, God Staff Jax, and many more feel like versions of champions that could achieve a certain feat in greatness, just not in this world. (yes, I can totally see draven becoming so much of a celebrity or known figure in Noxus that he could be some massive entertainer or broadcaster like primetime in the canon world, if enough years passed.)

God King Garen does this too, but shows his best AND worst traits in a legendary skin. All while still feeling like a more powerful version of him. You satisfy those who just want a powerful and cool-looking garen, while also giving non-mains something very interesting to be impressed by.

Demacia vice will always be my favorite for him. Great colors and a fun adaptation of his dutiful knight character into an 80’s cop movie archetype

the issue is: you see nothing of that in the actual skin. going by nothing but the visuals, I'd go with Demacia Vice. It still portrays garren as a warrior for Justice (a neon 80s action-movie cop with a giant katana), but a very different version of that fantasy, relative to his base design. together with Rouge Admiral its the one skin that deviates from Garrens base-fantasy, while being very unique in Leauge as a whole. I really want more Demacia Vice skins ^^

Garen is my favorite champion and God King Garen is my FAVORITE Garen skin.

For a champ that’s been around since day one, there are certainly a lot of skins for what is probably seen as the most basic of champions. And yet there’s no denying that this legendary certainly does an amazing job in telling a “what if” story of a man who let his ego get the best of him.

Really would be an interesting story to explore further for the “self-styled Messiah” and what lengths he would go to that would set him apart from those who currently run the country.

That and let’s be honest: Kitty Dance. That alone would have already cemented this as his best skin.

I love the concepts of the God King skins, not because of the philosophical reasons most would say but because they just feel straight out of SMT for me.
