I'm a huge fan of Koko, and I'm sure most other people here are too, but the translation here is a little deceptive, you can tell from his signals that she is learly telling us that

I have been a huge fan of Koko since I was little. Her life is tragic, but I cannot deny the profound lessons she has taught me on animal sentience. Her intense desire to be a mother is heartbreaking.

Koko has no concept of time, or of what is happening in a gorillas own habitat, all she knows is what Dr Penny has shown her what to say. Unfortunately Koko has no clue, all she has seen is where the foundation boundaries are. Koko simply can not grasp the concept. If Dr Penny or Ron was to tell Koko the sky was purple and showed her the sign for that then Koko would believe it. I do know that Koko is capable of love and when her kitten Allball died on the trucking road, Koko cried and you could hear her crying in her room so she does understand love but only because she has experienced it. I am actually a good friend of one of Koko's X handlers and behind closed doors the story about Koko, Ndume and Michael is a sad one. All Koko has wanted for years and years is a baby but Dr Penny knows that she would have to give up Koko so that she could have her gorilla family. Dr Penny knows that a female gorilla needs at least 2 or more females and a silver-back before a silver-back will mate with her, Ndume was brought in as a mate but because Dr Penney did not want to let Koko go she will never have a baby and that is beyond selfish, Dr Penny is a smart women so she knows what she needs to do to make that happen but she just won't. Koko turned 45 in 2016, she is almost at the age where she can not have a baby and something that has been curious is, would Koko teach her offspring sign?? Koko will go to her grave without a child and may very well out live Dr Penny and Ron and Koko will be lost. For these reasons and so many others my good friend no longer is one of Koko's handlers, he just could not watch what happens at the gorilla foundation re: Koko, and poor Ndume is always put on a back burner and that is so sad as well. I would give my right arm for one of Koko, Ndume or Michael's paintings however they are so expensive but the money goes back to the foundation which is desperately needed, both Koko and Michael painted pictures of flowers and they are so beautiful. I have followed Koko for about 26 years and she is my everything. I love both the lowland and the mountain gorillas so much and there is only apx 700 mountain gorillas left. I was lucky to follow a family of lowland gorillas for about 9 months for my research and they are the most amazing primates ever, along with the Orangutans. I am so passionate about these guys. Sorry for the rant but Koko, Strawberry, Princess and the king of the orangutans for the last 30 years Kusasi are my entire world and have been for 26 or more years. Thanks for listening

I honestly was a little hesitant making this video since it is co-opting an animal's message, but I just couldn't help myself. Co-opting one animal's message (while actually encouraging the original at the end) is worth it to hopefully open people's eyes about all of other animals suffering and the true hypocrisy of mainstream environmentalism.

Gorillas and other apes eat meat. If you want to end livestock farming, then fair play. But don't pretend that apes (humans included) don't eat meat. It may not be a lot, but we do, although humans eat too much meat.
