Great American Reset (Salt Lake City)

In this video we will explore the possible ancient origins of Salt Lake City and surrounding towns in Utah. The Mormon story may be a sloppy story for one of the last waves of civilization post reset event.

As usual there is no shortage of crisis in my life. I almost didn’t make this video however I am glad I did. The good news is I am able to pay the rent the bad news is that my espresso machine is broke after one month. I knew this would eventually happen as I bought it used and they can be problematic. I found another used replacement and hope to have it installed by Monday morning before the shop opens.
Thanks for all your support! I love you all!!! God bless.

Anyone see the movie "Dark City" with Kiefer Sutherland years back? All this fake history makes me think of that movie - at a clock stroke everyone falls into suspended animation at which time these creepy floating beings change around the entire landscape, buildings AND people's identities and lives. Only one guy is awake, though confused, and proceeds to unravel the entire deception. Great movie.

I grew up a lonely Mormon in Alabama.. Not a very large LDS community here. I’ve never been to Utah but I always wondered about those temples. The whole history and doctrine seemed suspect to my young mind. I sloughed it all off decades ago. This video articulates what my young mind of mush never could. I’ve been lied to since the day I was born.

Nicely done Jon. Living in Salt Lake City myself really makes it easy for me to see exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve spent a lot of time below street level on West Temple and have seen some very weird things; older and larger stone work, arches, windows and doors that have been bricked up using smaller bricks that look like they came from different structures originally.

Keep up the good work!

BYU has the Mormon temple story online. I read it a few weeks ago and it still makes me chuckle a bit to myself. The builders sent a special visionary engineer overseas to sail around and study architecture so he could draw up the plans...yep he sailed right out of salt lake, lol. Another point is they were somewhat problematic with the federal government during this time or were they?

Despite the non-lack of "crisis" in your life, you still manage to stay cool and calm while putting together an excellent presentation for all of us. This is why we love you Jon!! Thanks so much. :)

I used to do a bit of urban exploration and on one occasion I ended up in this storm drain that eventually lead to this immaculate red brick tunnel that gradually got smaller and smaller as you progressed through it. I had to turn around as it gets a bit uncomfortable to walk very far hunched over.

Great analysis! Showing the impossibilities in short time spans to accomplish feats of architectural excellence with rudimentary tools and skeleton crews. Nicely done!

A suggestion to do a video on Phoenix. It sits on 33rd parallel, also info on Egyptian treasures found in hidden caves at Grand Canyon.

I used to live just on the n.e. edge of downtown Denver. When I was trying to make a garden, there was all kinds of bricks buried in my yard.

Hey Jon thanks for your videos. My great grandfather came from Ireland to Utah in 1869 and according to history was the Architect and builder of the Coalville Tabernacle. He also was the mayor and the man charged with starting up Coalville. By looking into my own genealogy I found out about my personal link to the old world and the inheritance of this spectacular arch-itecture. Right away I knew my Gfather could not have built the tabernacle in such a short period of time. The trek to Utah from Illinois is filled with interesting information and clues to our past.

That courthouse is massive!! Looks more like a castle that was there for a long time before Mormons came to Utah. That was not built by the Mormons there's no way!!

The majority of temple maintenance budget is applied to structures built within the last 40-60 years. It seems the older temples just don't fall apart like the new stuff does.
