I used vinyl flooring under my parrot aviary. The floor is wooden underneath and I didn't want it getting wet. I bought a solid sheet from my locale lumber yard, glued it to the wooden floor and let it dry for 24 hours before moving her into her new parrot pad! I just lay newspaper down and change it weekly.

Well, I see a lot of flooring ideas to prevent damping of the floor so I believe that I need not suggest any tips as most of them are already there. If I would have build this setup, I would prefer to get double mesh and put the aviary right next to the window so that the birds get sunlight as well as some breeze depending on weather. Plus, the aviary floor would be less damp if sunlight and breeze hit it directly instead of draft. The draft will increase the humidity levels inside so maybe you might have to think about it, if it's a problem for you. Also raising the height of the base by adding a piece of woodframe would prevent most of the sand to get out of the aviary because of the quails rummaging. This will be helpful as you won't have to get cleaning done every now and again. Enjoy the video. BYE
