Starfish have no eyes but have some kind of structures on their arms that detect light. Maybe cuttlefish have something similar.

I seem to remember a study that looked at the heat of different colors as a way to sense color

I'm colorblind and my color skills are incredible. I've gone to parties where no one ever notices me. My camo skill is also great.

Cuttlefish are honestly so impressive. At Disneyworld's Epcot, they have a small tank of them and pretty much just sand. Just. Sand. It looked empty at first, then I kept finding new ones for several minutes. They can turn practically invisible with their camouflage. I still don't think I have any idea how many were in that tank.

So bottom line is, Camouflage things like Cuttlefish, octopus are actually showing middle finger to scientists and challenging them, 'find if u can.
