Notorious “Fake Heiress” Anna Sorokin insisted in a new interview that she’s not a “dumb, greedy person” and had no “fraudulent intent” when she swindled Manhattan’s elite out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In her first sit-down television interview since her release from prison, the 30-year-old convicted thief told ABC’s Deborah Roberts she wants to rewrite her story and clear her reputation.

“I would like to show the world that I’m not this dumb, greedy person that they portrayed me to be,” Sorokin says in the segment, which is set to air on “20/20” Friday night.

“I never had a fraudulent intent… And I guess that’s what should really count,” she said, according to a portion of the interview released Thursday.

She isn't dumb, she was smart enough to figure out how to do what she did but everything she did do is greed, ain and simple. She wasn't trying to help anyone but herself. I had to hear her voice as I'm watching the Netflix movie because I can't get past the voice Julia used to play her. I wish there were more interviews with her though.

I don’t understand why she is so into image yet her hair is a mess!?! Like please explain! It’s a mousy brown color and dry and disheveled. Also the clothes she wore for her trial were just plain looking babydoll dresses with chokers...didn’t really appear high fashioned and she often wears no makeup when she could really use it. Just not picking up high end from her. But really what is with her hair?!

One of the greatest things she lost is trust. She earned money yes, but only fools will ever trust that kind of person again after knowing her true character as someone who takes advantage of others for her selfish ambitions and to top all, after everything, having no remorse and sign of repentance for her lies and deception to the people she used.

I'm watching this Netflix series just to see Julia Garner in something other than Ozark, in which she is awesome. But, it is a shame the media makes celebrities out of these con artists, serial killers and other criminals. They will argue that if they weren't popular, they wouldn't make them. Although that is true they could have a conscience and not make them famous and thereby encourage copy cats.
