During the speeches of Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, attendees give him a standing ovation once every 4 minutes. In the U.S., they say that the people of N. Korea applaud with such enthusiasm out of fear of the cruelty and the tyranny of their dictator, as described by the US government.
Last Wednesday, Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a 55-minute speech to the US Congress, during which, members of Congress stood and applauded him over 50 times. That's approximately once every minute, which is *quadruple* the applause that the North Korean leader gets in *HIS* country.
According to the same American logic; the fear that members of Congress must have felt in the presence of Netanyahu is *quadruple* the fear that the people of North Korea feel in front of their Kim Jong Un.

like sam said on today's stream, if harris thinks it could be harmful to her campaign to pick shapiro as vp, she wont. we need to let her know we don't want shapiro in whatever way we can, both institutionally and as individuals, and we need to do that now. I think it absolutely could cost her the youth support and momentum she needs to win the election.

As a member of Gen Z I think trump is 100% a threat to democracy but memes for a candidate always come off as disingenuous. The most memorable political memes of the past cycles were ones that railed against a candidate, not rallied support for them. Think "Pokémon go to the polls" or "Pepe the frog" that came off as cringey vs the Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz attack memes that pushed both out of the running. Lean into the "JD Vance creepy/couchfucker/eyeliner", we need to stay away from this 2016-esque corny playbook please.

I was worried about Harris' not so impressive public speaking, but I'm surprised by how good her media team is. Messaging is so important. Remember, rightwingers hold the top spots in mainstream and social media. This is true despite the moaning about "liberal media".
