Massive wildfires burn through California

Firefighters are racing to put out massive wildfires in northern California and Nevada that spread over 300,000 acres. ABC News' Jaclyn Lee and WABC meteorologist Jeff Smith report.

That neighborhood? It was an entire freaking city! I knew people who had grown up in Paradise. Most of the people have permanently relocated.

This is not new. I lived in CA during the 1960s and 70s. Summer wildfires were an annual event even back then.

She lost her home and pets/animals in the last event and still managed to not take her animals in this one... I'm not trying to shame her but Someone needs to stop people like them from getting any animals knowing the potential of a wildfire and not being able to take care of them when they depend on human interaction. You're in the middle of a forest why are they trying to make it into a big farm. Animal poop can create heat that's why you see them covered up with white tarps in actual farm lands.

How horrid for those poor farm animals. Really, do people not have a plan to save such too? There are always fires in these regions. One ought to have a plan and make sure to evacuate Way in time, so the risk is smaller and one doesn't have to puke after a ride through the raging flames. I understand she feels guilty.
