I’m going with the 15PM for this even if the 16 Plus has newer spec. Looks and feels like 16PM just without the camera control. Business wise, I feel more confident with the Pro Max vs the base model when dealing with clients (increasing sales and trust with the top end phones vs the base based on experience)

I already got the 15 Pro Max about 3 months back (I know, I bought brand new), and thus far I am really loving it. Prior to that, I had base level iPhones: 14, 12 mini, SE 2nd Gen, iPhone 6. The 15x zoom on the 15 Pro Max has had more use than I thought I'd get out of it, and the overall quality and usage of the device has been excellent. I also have 18.1 RC installed and the Apple Intelligence features added have been fun and I can see them being occasionally useful. Image cleanup may come into use on rare occasion, and works very well the few times I've used it. Aside from the zoom, there really isn't much difference between the two for my usage scenarios.

The regular 16 series wobbles like one of those tables in a restaurant with uneven legs. Maybe a folded up napkin or some sugar packets strategically placed could fix the wobbly iPhone like it does a wobbly table.

Easy pick. Go with 15 Pro max, you get more and paying the same or less. I have the 15 pro max natural titanium. I can also confidently say the 15 Pro max as of right now is better than even the 16 pro max. The Apple intelligence is not here yet even though they swore the 16 like was made for the thing. But the gimmicks are not things most people care about. And that includes the slight performance improvement. People tend to hold their IPhones for years. So the gpu scores and cpu scores mean nothing to average customers.

If the 15 pro max wasn’t prone to major overheating I would’ve said that’s the better buy, but the 16 plus has a advantage of being no overheating and will get a extra year of updates

The thing is, here in India, the 15 pro is at least 250 dollar costlier than 16. So a customer will be actually getting a bargained 15 pro by buying 16 with the performance and features that comes with it, which makes it almost indistinguishable from 15 pro.

I agree they’re both excellent phones. It’s just finding out which one is the right one for you!!! for me I got the 16 plus and I am very happy with that decision!! For what I like, it’s got most of the features the pros do and I love excellent battery life!! I do agree tha the iPhone should’ve upgraded to 120 Hz instead of 60 that being said on my iPhone 16 Plus I can take advantage of more battery life by putting it on battery saver mode Because it’s only at 60 Hz without it!! I love got the action button and the camera button and it jumped up two chips from the A16 to the A18 over my 15 plus!! phone call quality is excellent. Do I miss the third camera Yes, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me, especially with the digital two ex zoom!! also love the colors and the pill shaped camera cut out!! Oh I thought it through and I made the right decision for me!! thanks, Nic for the comparison!!!

The camera shape was better on the iPhone 12 as usual and uglier on the older one, but its light weight makes me ignore the Pro as well. It's normal. You'll find it new even after four years.
