Should you have multiple YouTube channels? I know a lot of creators like to make a variety of content on one channel because it allows for the most creative expression but is doing it that way limiting your reach on YouTube? This video explains the pros and cons of starting a second channel on YouTube.

Guilty of asking this question... and yes i have mixed content so have switched to multiple channels so as not to "bore" different channel audiences with unwanted or unsearched for content.

I do have a second channel, and have discovered that it's beneficial to upload my vlogs to the second channel, while doing Reviews on the main channel, seems to be a good choice for us, Liked the vid

I’ve got two channels. I started with a wine channel which expanded to include whisky. I found that wine enthusiasts and whisky enthusiasts were two different audiences (mostly). So I created another channel for whisky. They are both growing but it is very difficult for me to find time for both channels.

Rather than start new channels, create new PLAYLISTS that features content you wanted in that 2nd channel.
Allowing PLAYLISTS to compliment your core channel also allows you to experiment with different content. (Lightbulb?)

Actually my first channel started to feel kinda overwhelming and because of it, it was hard to commit myself to it and find back my passion. Then I started my second channel and focussed all my energy into that one for a while. And it has brought back my passion and joy for YouTube, it has improved my editing skills and speed, and I couldn't be happier that I did it. I'm finally a consistent uploader, I actually post 2 videos every day! Never in a million years had I thought I could do that. Now I'm slowly starting to get back to the first channel as well, I wanna take some of my positivity from this channel and put it in the first. It's still a hurdle, but one I think I can overcome now, and couldn't have in the past, had I kept being stuck on that one channel.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, sometimes when you're stuck, you need something fresh to reset your mind. For me that was this channel.

I just started a second channel and I noticed I’m concentrating more on my main channel (this one) it’s just tough starting from scratch and putting effort into a 🙌new channel that doesn’t get as much vies or isn’t monetized 🤔

Great info! I have two channels. I started one for weight loss that's doing really well. I just hit 10k! But I fell in love with vlogging there and they my subscribers just didn't want to watch it. So we started a family vlog called Hyde and Seek on the side and hustling on both channels is sure to send me to burn out eventually but I LOVE the vlogs! They cross-pollinate really well though. The people who want to know more about me go to the other one and on the family vlog when I mention weight loss they look that up if they are interested. It's great!

The title pulled me in, you are killing it! The background looks good. I love how it contrast with your shirt.

A second 'expression' channel. Not a bad idea! Thanks Nick!

Thank you Nick. My current channel is in Urdu language and I want to create same content in English. So should I go for second channel for that or should I continue with same channel and have different playlist?

Wow ... excellent and really interesting video Nick. I have been struggling with the idea of breaking off into an additional channel or two.I have even asked about this very concept durning some of your livestreams. Really excited to see a video focusing on the subject of multiple channels. I have learned so much about YouTube in the last year or so from follow you and a few others in your niche of YouTube coaching and education. When I started on YouTube years ago I was not aware or even considered the concept of "niche" and audience. I started off by using YouTube as a place to host woodworking videos for my woodworking blog. That was back in the day of 360p!! I later discovered that I also just enjoyed the creative process of just making videos. Slowly my content list grew buts so did the variety of content because my camera was recording my hobbies and travels. Eleven years later I am faced with the struggle of the best way moving forward. I am sure to some degree that mixed content has also effected my channel growth. YouTube has been a fun and exciting adventure for me. I have had the opportunity to meet some people that I would have never met except because of the common bond of YouTube. I intend to keep making content ... just have to figure out the best path going forward. Thank you for all you do for the community. 👊

I was always against having a 2nd channel. Me personally, my channel takes up most of my time, a 2nd channel is just not feasible. Would be WAY too much work. Good video though, always wanted to see what you had to say about it.
