Costly lesson for me was listening to others advice (which is OK) BUT then not doing my own research as well and blindly/sloppy investing

My costly lession was to ignore key-person risk. I combined to mistakes here because I was extremely confident in a company (like you with bitcoin) but the success was build on the carismatic leadership I knew in person. Unfortunately the CEO died in a bike accident on a weekend trip and the stock decreased more than 50 per cent on mondays opening and went down ever more because the widow was forced to sell stocks to pay the death tax. So I lost a high six figure amount even though I had a 20 per cent stoploss in place...

A valuable lesson I learned was to not be stuck on one YT influencer and look what others are saying and DYOR. All your tips are so true and I experienced all of them. Lesson learned. Not dead yet, so still in it to win it.

1. Trying to make money on illiquid market. 2. Not taking profits.3. Not acting fast with win/win approach (no matter which way market will go) 4. Dont trust yourself. 5. Dont protect down side. (cut 9n first mental stop). Here are some of my mistakes. lol

Chris, this video is gold. Pretty much made most of the mistakes.
All suggestions look so simple, easy to overlook and it takes years to learn what you said and gain control on self.

I did pick lot of good companies early on but traded too much and made nothing. If I had held on to them might have made easy 500% in 5 years.
Right now I am working on knowing the company better, leadership, what they are doing and their future moat, this gave me more conviction to hold on to my pick longer enough they hit home run then take some off the table and letting remaining run.

I've made the same mistakes as you. One extra lesson I learned was getting into a Ponzi, like Bitconnect, thinking I would get out on time....well, the company basically decided to exit scam as soon as I invested 😆
