I disagree with you for once on one thing. I’ve gotten to the point where I refuse to buy a stock that doesn’t pay a dividend. I think that whole “we don’t pay a dividend because we reinvest our profits in the company” is just an excuse. As a stockholder, I bought the stock to share in the profits. Why would I buy part of a company that isn’t giving me any of the profits? I’ve been investing for awhile now, and if anything the price per share of the stocks I have that pay a high dividend have risen faster than the stocks that pay no or low dividend. I have a Fidelity account with “growth stocks” that hasn’t gone up much. At the same time, I have a Schwab account paying me $108K per year in dividends. I retired last year and I’m living off the dividends from the Schwab account.
