I like how he's completely unsure of what he's doing every step of the way.

Fred, your videos are very helpful, especially the use of blue and black inks and your soldering instructions are amazing! The only thing I would change is applying the glue to the body, not the neck because there will be less oozing of glue. Thank you so much!

I have the same kit, and the fit on the neck is very nice, the bridge post predrill is right at the correct scale length (24.75" on this guitar).  You can debate the merits of screwing vs gluing guitar necks all day - this is a Gibson clone and gluing is appropriate for the copy - traditionally Gibson glues and Fender screws.  This is very helpful for learning to assemble the kit, he doesn't pretend to go into all the things it takes to build a proper guitar from scratch.
I just finished building two guitars from scratch, both intonated correctly and sound great - but the thing I learned most is that I never want to go through all that again.  I picked up this kit because I wanted to duplicate a PRS Grand Am, and for the very low price, I'm very impressed.  The only thing to change is to spring for some better pickups and electronics probably, but these are perfectly fine to start with.

i have not even finished watching the rest of of the videos and so far, I've got to say, this looks amazing! I'm considering getting on of these kits. i don't care if it ends up sounding crap because in the end it will have been an awesome project.

Titebond yes but it should be titebond original wood glue, Gibson uses it and it's the best non interrupting the resonance glue.

yah it can be wet sanded. you can also use a car wax polish kit to get an extra shine

Looks good! You may want to put some lemon oil on the fretboard also.

I just bought the Flying V kit and will be starting my project soon. Your videos have been a great help! I'm looking forward to seeing your finished guitar. Great job so far!

Lots of stuff I would have done differently, but here's the big ones:
-Glue first, finish second; this was done in the wrong order.
-Make sure the neck is joint is in the right spot; install the bridge to make sure things line up. You don't want it to be set and then find out that the guitar is unplayable, and you can just remove the bushings afterwards before finishing.
-Use less glue, and use something that can be steamed out if needed. Glue affects the sustain adversely.

I'm loving the fit on this kit. Looks like there aren't any extreme spacings. No need for shims and all that. Looks great so far Fred!

For anyone watching don't use titebond 2 or 3 it's creeps with time. Titebond original dries hard and doesn't creep like 2. Some say use hide glue but honestly titebond cured harder than the wood in my own testing. I did want to try fish glue though.

You can use Tung oil or any other gloss oil. Or you can use any other clear coat spry or oil... It just depends on how you want to seal your paint job... For these guitars you are only really buying the wood. The pickup's or humbucker's arn't perfect but It will play. So I would deffently change them out, even the pots. I would recomend get the guitar and buy off some good pickups or humbukers.. Also upgrade the tuners... Good wood not soo good electronics... Hope that helps

Blow out neck joint and neck with air nozzle to get dust out of micro nooks and crannys. Always apply glue to both surfaces.

Unfortunately, the kits do not come with instructions. At least not the kit I received. That is the main reason why I decided to make these videos.

Hey Fred I was just wondering (maybe I'll have to see the other videos to know this I don't know) buuut..why is there a cut-out part on the neck? The one you're glueing at 1:51 ?

Suggestion: next time use a radius sanding block of the same radius as the finger board to clamp the top of the finger board.
Using a flat clamp on a radius fretted board could cause the fret wires to pop out or flatten.

I would have lined up the 1st and 6th strings before gluing the neck.
