Looks nice! Its mother of pearl "mop" plastic inlays, abalone is the blue multicolor inlays. You can tell the right side of the top will be darker then the left before any stain or tungoil etc ; ),

I would LOVE for Fesley to offer a FLP350 kit, with the black matte body (hardware, finish and all)! I would take it from there! Traditional mohogany LPs are way too heavy for me! 😁🤘🎸

hey bro, i got one awile back due to the fdk800 needed so much frett work, so they sent me the same kit i left it like it is, but that lp is one of the best guitars i own it is awesome,
if you paint the top u have to sand it has a finish on it aleady .. dont over tighten the neck screws

I heard you say the weather is getting colder. I finished a kit last winter in my living room. I used dye for the coloring and did a burst. Then i used wipe on poly for the top coat. No spraying at all. I hate having to depend on the weather for painting

Really cool kit, Stang! I dig it. On my list, and I need to check one of these kits out. I lvoe that the Les Paul shape body is legit... looks like that oriiginal shape. And the neck does look good. Looks like it might be some sort of engineered "wood" type simulated material. But I can't tell from watchin on the Toob. Anyway - looks sweet. I want one. Great price too.

I think the finish on that is a sealer, and is meant to be sanded and finished. I did one from another maker, and created a nice ‘burst’ with RIT clothing dyes.

Yery cool! If I was making this, I'd lightly sand the top and stain it something pretty... it makes the flames pop more! also, a cool trick you can do is to bevel the edges all around the top (after staining/finishing). It gives the guitar a cool outline from the front view

Interesting unboxing, have you tried any of the Solo kits? They did have a Les Paul kit that had a high gloss red burst finish that saved the one the trouble of having to apply a finish to the body.

It isn't actually finished. What you're feeling is sanding sealer. You can stain it into a nice burst if you want. If you choose to leave it natural, you still need to finish it with clear coat or true oil at the very least.
