In its inaugural round, more than 475 organizations from 80 countries applied to the Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development initiative, which identifies and supports market-based, clean energy innovations for the energy-agriculture value chain in developing countries.

On December 11, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted an event in Washington, D.C., to announce the first 11 Powering Agriculture winners. The event brought together experts from around the globe to discuss cutting-edge solutions to the development challenges that exist at the nexus of energy and agriculture.

This video describes the exciting opportunities created by Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development.

Great work. We can help and do more to help other less privileged and destitute people from starvation. Education is key to helping learn how best to cope with shortages.
