I was at boot camp for Thanksgiving, 1996, we went to the theater and watched "Braveheart." The Drill Instructors even let us buy candy, popcorn and soda. Semper Fi, SgtMaj, OORAH!!!

I went through Boot Camp during the summer of 1984. I remember 4th of July and Labor Day. They were just regular days. We didn't even acknowledge them.

I spent Thanksgiving on P.I. In 84 in was maintance duty or chow hall duty for the week, I was cleaning or painting something and was sent to the chow hall to eat, I think that was by far the best Thanksgiving meal I had in my first 19 years on earth.
