Show me tell me questions with an examiner and a learner driver in a Ford Fiesta. This video is to show learners of mine exactly what to do in my car but anyone is welcome to watch as the answers are often the same whichever car you use.

Andy Jones is not a real driving test examiner. Charlie was a real learner however and passed her driving test 9 days after this video was filmed.

You'll see that the examiner and pupil have the questions printed in front of them for reference but we didn't read the answers out word for word. There is no need to and it looks much more realistic like this than if we'd got everything perfectly spot on. I know these answers would be accepted from having done over 700 driving tests in my career as a driving instructor.

With the power steering answer for example examiners should only need to hear that the steering would feel heavy if it wasn't working. The official answer goes on for two paragraphs. There are other ways you can tell such as warning lights coming on but they won't accept those answers in case the warning lights aren't working.

Remember that for the tell me answers you only have to TELL them. It doesn't if you don't know where the switch is although of course, you should. You do have to lift the bonnet to tell them the answers about the oil, brake fluid and coolant.

The answers in this video are deliberately not read word for word from the DVSA answers. That wouldn't be realistic as very few pupils repeat them word for word and those that do have often just memorised a phrase but don't actually know what it means! The examiner had the answers in front of him for reference but as you can see the pupil is not reading from them when answering.
