you're partially correct. that doesn't demist it fully, it directs the air to the front windscreen and takes LONGER as it's not heating as such, the reason you have a rear demister BUTTON is for your HEATED rear window & HEATED side mirrors, newer/higher spec cars will also have a front screen button & the option to still direct the heat to the windscreen, therefore resulting in a quicker process, thats' normally on automatic climate, on the manual dials like this if you had the front button, you should ideally do both
