Κυριολεκτικά "φωτιά" έχει πάρει η περιοχή στον Κόλπο του Άντεν, στην Υεμένη, καθώς μετά τα δυο περιστατικά κατάληψης εμπορικών πλοίων από ένοπλους, ήρθε ένα ακόμα, αυτό της επίθεσης εναντίον πλοίου του Αμερικανικού πολεμικού ναυτικού, η οποία και έγινε γνωστή πριν από λίγες ώρες, μέσω ανακοίνωσης που εξέδωσε η Αμερικανική κεντρική στρατιωτική διοίκηση.
Όλα ξεκίνησαν λοιπόν, από την χθεσινή απόπειρα κατάληψης του εμπορικού πλοίου CENTRAL PARK, από ένοπλους που φορούσαν στρατιωτικές στολές, τη στιγμή που έπλεε ανοιχτά του κόλπου του Άντεν, κάτι που φυσικά το ανάγκασε να εκπέμψει σήμα κινδύνου, στο οποίο ανταποκρίθηκαν συμμαχικά πλοία και αεροσκάφη, που έσπευσαν άμεσα στην περιοχή, για να προβούν στην απελευθέρωση του πλοίου.
Και όντως κατά την άφιξη των πλοίων, στα οποία συμπεριλαμβανόταν και το αντιτορπιλικό USS MASON, ζητήθηκε η απελευθέρωση του σκάφους και οι ένοπλοι επιβιβάστηκαν άμεσα σε μικρό σκάφος και αποχώρησαν σε μια προσπάθεια που έκαναν για να διαφύγουν.
Όμως το USS MASON τους καταδίωξε και κατάφερε να τους πιάσει, ενώ όσον αφορά το πλήρωμα του M/V CENTRAL PARK, όπως συνεχίζει η ανακοίνωση, αυτή τη στιγμή είναι ασφαλές.
Λίγο αργότερα όμως σήμανε κόκκινος συναγερμός, καθώς δυο βαλλιστικοί πύραυλοι εκτοξεύτηκαν από περιοχές που ελέγχουν οι Χούτι, εναντίον της τοποθεσίας που βρισκόταν το USS MASON και το CENTRAL PARK.

The region in the Gulf of Aden, in Yemen, has literally caught fire, as after the two incidents of the seizure of commercial ships by armed men, another one came, that of the attack against a US navy ship, which became known a few hours ago, from a statement issued by US CENTCOM.
So it all started with yesterday's attempt to seize the merchant ship CENTRAL PARK, by gunmen wearing military uniforms, while it was sailing off the Gulf of Aden, which of course forced it to issue a distress signal, to which allied ships and aircraft responded and immediately rushed to the area to free the ship.
And indeed upon the arrival of the ships, which included the destroyer USS MASON, the release of the vessel was requested and the gunmen immediately boarded a small boat and left in an attempt to escape.
But the USS MASON pursued and managed to catch them, while the crew of the M/V CENTRAL PARK, the statement continued, is currently safe.
A short time later, however, a red alert was sounded, as two ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi-controlled areas against the location of the USS MASON and CENTRAL PARK.

Έτσι λένε οι Αμερικανοί, δεν νομίζω ότι αν την άρπαξαν θα το δημοσίευαν, το σίγουρο είναι ότι οι πύραυλοι αυτού του τύπου σε στόχους αυτού του ειδους ευστοχούν πιο εύκολα.
