Thank you for the videos. If I may, Collin is the most accurate player in the PGA so we should be following his swing not criticizing it.

It can’t be bad…he’s just won the open! I suppose a swing like his is testament to the athletic ability of the player to overcome any move which deviates from a theoretically perfect swing. Nice analysis. Thanks.

His swing is amazing, he's following a new guide line of the old natural swing technique used by many pre 1940's, this lets the natural motion of every aspect of the swing IE not so much body rotation more arms up and lots of shoulder turn, the hand is bowed as to keep the back of the hand towards the ground more through to impact, this is fantastic way of controlled club face impact that give total consistency and accuracy, if you slow the video right down you can see he's dropping the arms and letting the body follow the path naturally, reminiscent of Tiger 1996-2002 with Butch Harmon. what a swing.

Honestly one of the funnier golf videos on YouTube! 😂

Love the critiques of a guy who plays for money from people who pay to play.

I have a similar golf swing when it comes to the right heel coming off the ground but I hit it sold. How would you recommend to change this in my golf swing as I get lower back problems from this. I’ve been told to slow down the hips, what do u think

Most strokes gained with approach shots so technically we should be trying to replicate his swing rather than critique

I don't see Collin using a lot of the squat on the downswing and jump up or post up on the left leg as you rotate to maximize what is called the ground effect. Is that accurate? Or am I not seeing it? Some coaches put a great deal of emphasis on that type of swing. The idea is that the swing speed comes from rotation while the arms and hands are less active, and the push up off the right leg is what mainly drives the rotation. What are your thoughts on it. Also, is that what Speith is said to be doing at the Open, calling it "Turn and Burn."

Wow, he puts a new meaning bowing the wrist. It’s almost in a 90 degree angle and is held through the impact. It’s his swing but wouldn’t recommend copying that. He’s currently one of the best iron players in the pga.

His grip is very weak left hand which causes more bowing of left wrist. I personally have been trying to hit more fades and trying to weaken my grip a little. I love his tempo in real time as it is very deliberate. Love watching this guy play probably in my top 5.

I’m new to your channel and I think it’s great. Ironically the two swings I chose to look at first are Xander’s and Colin’s (the ones that I’m trying to emulate). They key position that most amateurs don’t get to is the left hip rotation showing more back and buttock at impact. Perhaps that helps explain the early right heel lifting you mentioned for both of those golfers. Neither early extend in my opinion. I’d love to have that move. Your thoughts?

I would like if you didn’t add your opinions in these vids so much. It’d be cool if it was more informational.

Nice video, but I wish the player wasn't overshadowed by you on the right. Your voiceover would have been nice. Thanks for the upload though.

So interesting with the right heel well off the ground, we all like to copy elements of swings and try to create the perfect swing yet he is very unorthodox and is by far one of the best iron players on the PGA tour. Ultimately its what makes the ball go where you want it to!

Colin is a smaller guy, so like JT, he is a huge user of Verticle Forces to generate power. When you look at the Right foot being off the ground, re-direct your eyes to his front Left leg straightening in an almost brutal fashion. Colin doesn't jump off the ground like JT does, but I don't think I've ever seen any swing where the Left Leg is snapped straight in such a violent way (that's a huge source of his power). If you can generate verticle force in your front leg like that, you can have your right foot completely off the ground.

Wow I didn't realise the best iron player in the game now has a swing that's a bit further from the "perfect" swing, though it probably works for him now whilst he's still young and injury free. Seems like he's creating a lot of power and consistency with alot more lower body movement in the downswing, Anyway, nice set of videos!

Appreciate the swing breakdown and commentary... as a teachers you can't try to make cookie cutter swings though. We are all built differently and not robots. Maybe the word choice about what you "don't like" makes it ironic. Guy has a swing of beauty

The thing people don't understand about Colin, Rahm and DJ's swing with the bent wrist is that it is a very different swing to the traditional method and the old school swing philosophy from Tigers era, still used by the majority including Phil Mickleson and Oozthusizen. The chances of finding a pro that can teach this new swing are very limited as nearly all are trained in the old way. The old way involves timing the body and arms to become one. Now if you try and HIT with your arms with your wrist like DJ and Colin you WILL hurt yourself. Look at the german Siem who tried it. You cant use the old swing methodology with this position. The video author doesn't seem to be aware of this emerging division in golf swings taking place. The new swing these guys do is JUST ONE BODY MOTION. They do not 'hit with their arms', rather their body and arms moves to make the club appear at the ball. There is no hip and arm timing. Old pro's (many online, e.g. Mike Malaska) cannot seem to grasp this, they simply cannot see the swing from this different perspective. That is ok it is very human. What Colin, DJ and Rahm have shown is the new swing is more consistent precisely because it is just one motion, not a balancing act that more easily buckles under pressure. Look at Louis, for 3 days at the Open his timing was brilliant, but under final day pressure, it more easily comes undone. Colin and DJ's swing is more reliable because it is just one thing. Those masters of the old swing are far more talented (hand eye wise etc.), but the new swing is clearly the way to consistency, and you can find almost no one apart from a select few in the US's elite golf schools who are on to the new swing, and will teach it.

Why is the video of you more than 50% of the screen? Keep the commentary but shrink or remove yourself and let us focus more on Collin and his swing.
