When Aragorn bows to the hobbits I never manage not to tear up a little. It's so amazing a moment.

Samwise is one of the most meaningful and kind characters ever written. He lived a great life, and it’s fitting that he goes to where Frodo and Bilbo went.

All the gestures that were made for the fellowship are so touching. Merry and pippin being laid to rest next to aragorn after reuniting with the hunters. Sam goin to Aman as well as legolas and gimli.

"If Sam asks you to do something you probably do it, it's Sam". I know I missed some of it, but that was Awesome! It put such a Smile on my face I truly needed Thank You for that I really love this Channel. I've never had the Privilege of Reading the Books, but I love how you explain everything while staying True to the Source Material, not changing it for yourself.😊

That was The Gaffer, Sams dad who said “I hope my Sam gave satisfaction” to which Frodo then replied in front of Rosy Cotton that he was famous throughout the world.
Gaffer replied that it was hard to believe, & where was his waistcoat?
He didn’t hold with wearing of iron
Mongary whether it wears well or no!

Dammit. Always emotional to revisit these characters of great virtue but then you throw the homage to the Hobbits scene on the end and I gotta fight the tears.

Happy Hobbit Day buddy, and great job with this video! It's amazing just how important these characters are after the LOTR!

Re: Sam's return to the shire, it's hilarious when Rosie says to him something to the extent that: 'Youve finally returned now, just when things are getting dangerous!'... And Sam is so dumbfounded by this (after all that he's been through, clearing out a few thugs from the shire is basically trivial) that he is speechless! But, he promises to be careful.

I thought that exchange exemplifies Sam's growth as a character and a man (Hobbit!) more than just about anything else in that chapter.

You forgot to mention that Merry & Pippen went into the realm of mankind and began broadcasting a successful PodCast called, "The Friendship Onion, " which we can all see and hear every Tuesday. 😊✌️

this video ending made me cry just like i cried at the the end of the return of the king movie, you are just as amazing as the movies at telling the stories but maybe better !

It's a happy story and at the same time incredibly sad. The biggest journey of their lives ended. I can't help but thinking that a mission is the only thing that makes life worth living and nothing else really does. Probably read too many books when I was little.

Thank you. First read Tolkien 60 years ago and still love the books and films.

I am blown away over how much info Tolkien managed to put out and I am both impressed and happy that you know so much about it and are willing to share it to slubs like me. A thousand blessings upon your home lol, Cheers!

Yours has quickly become one of my two favorite Tolkien channels on YouTube. And that scene--"My friends... You bow to no one"--makes me tear up every time I see it. And I mean Every Time. And I'm a cold and cynical bastard lol.

Happy Hobbit Day, my friend. I love the responsibility laid upon Sam to rebuild the world even during the quest.

I enjoyed the etymological information in this vid, as well as the word choices - 'auspicious', 'assuaged', etc... Thanks for choosing not to dumb-down or utilize oversimplification in the vid; trusting the erudition of the audience is a refreshing departure from a lot of YouTube posts. Cheers!

Frodo was talking to Sam's dad, the old Gaffer, but Rosie was there (and appreciated Frodo's praise much more - the Gaffer just wanted to know where his son's 'weskit' had gone...)
