YOU ARE AMAZING! I have 2 pairs of cheap sunglasses they no longer sell anywhere, they are my favorite because of the style (the block light on the sides is my eyes and are lightweight) but both broke in the same spot your showing here. Going to try this now no glue ever worked ❤ thank you

Depending on where the breaking point is, you might want to actually cut a tiny piece of the back part of your frame and use it as a plastic solder. It will make it even more stronger.

My father always fixed things like this for me, but he is no longer with me, so I have to figure this stuff out now on my own. Thank you for your video. I hope this works for me.

This works!! make sure you do it in a well ventilated space. I did it under my kitchen exhaust fan.

Thank you for this helpful video. I think I will try this method instead of little piece of metal and super glue. If it works, I will surely come back to share my results.

I was making my models like this with a soldering gun as a kid in the 70's.
Have always repaired plastic this way not sure why it took the masses 50 years to figure it out.

Your the winner of the video on 'how to fix plastic eye glasses frames' with a welding tool. My question is what can you do without a welding tool? I was thinking, one can put a flame stick for a few seconds on the crack of the plastic to heat it without the lenses on and than let the heat cool before putting back the lenses on the frames. What do you think? I need a fast response, please?

What terms should I search on Amazon to get this? A number of soldering irons come up, they’re all really cheap, is it a specific temperature I’m looking for with plastic?

Came across this while researching what I thought was gna be the best glue to repair my glasses. Now I’m determined to do it this way because they’re my favourite pair and are discontinued and I don’t wanna fuck it up by having them break again.

Cool! I am fixing up my first pair of sunglasses soon and this should help.

Another thing one can do other than putting heat on the plastic broken part of the frame is for an inventor and chemist to come up with a thin strip of tape (various colors) to use instead or a cover of some sort that acts like a strip of tape. These are my ideas. What do you think?

I had to review this video again. Its the same idea that I had about using a flame stick to heat the current plastic and than use ones fingers to tightened the crack portion lined with the other side. The only thing, on this video that is not correct is putting the lenses on the frames during this process. The lenses need to be removed because they can snap back on, at least the ones that I have can. Thanks for providing video because, now I know how to fix mine without costing me anything except my time and efforts which will cost me $0. The person the video, you should have a repair shop for people whom can do this themselves so they do not get hurt nor their eyesight. You should charge about $60/hour, but since it actually takes you 5 or 10 minutes plus the cooling of the frames before one can wear them back on plus putting back the original lenses and cleaning them in a healthy way comes to approximately $6 (repair) + $5 (cooling method) + $2 + Sales Tax per State in the USA (Texas is 8.75%) + tip (option, not mandatory) = $15 total x (how many eye ware) - (batch discount of $5/eye ware). This is my suggested price repair cost for you if you open a repair shop for individuals, not Obstetricians nor Optometrist. I hope it goes well, whomever did this video. Thanks for figuring it out!

One can not use any type of glue on eye glasses because it will mess up the persons eyes instantly or eventually. Please people, think before one reacts. You can hurt your eyes site with using glue, which will cause one to be blind or worse. Glue has chemicals in it. Would you put glue in an empty eye drop bottle? Of course, you would not put glue in an empty eye drop bottle and use it on ones eyes. So, using glue on a eye glass frames, would be ridiculous. That is exactly what using glue on the frames would do to your ones eyes site.

There's always one smart arse with a better way to do anything... Here's mine >> SUPER GLUE & BAKING SODA ... you can fix any ..YES ANY plastic with it... just apply the glue then sprinkle the soda like salt over the wet area. You can even build up and fill gaps with this method if you create a pile of soda then drip the glue onto it...sets hard as granite ! Then you can knife off any excess and sand it good (That'll be £5 please...Thank you)
