As an American I found this educational in reverse. I never knew many things we take for granted here are unheard of or culturally awkward for foreigners.

The black in Black Friday has nothing to do with violence. It’s the one day(or weekend) retailers look forward to getting their financial status back in the black, which is good. Many retailers that are in the red (with a negative balance) can actually get back on the positive side with just Black Friday sales.

It's called "Black Friday" because that was the one day of the year that retailer's were almost guaranteed to make a profit, or "be in the black" as opposed to in the red, which is a loss. It comes from old accounting methods where profits were recorded in black and losses were recorded in red.

When you talk about the bathroom stalls Having a gap at the base of a partition allows people waiting in line to see if a stall is occupied or vacant. it's to keep the lines moving.... But I see it as an escape hatch too just in case of emergencies

Black Friday in the United States has actually been extended to the entire weekend and even through the following Monday they did this to keep the violence down lol

Re: Public bathrooms. It used to be the norm for stalls to be fully enclosed, as per British custom, but you can blame on the American criminal for why this is not the case anymore. Over the decades, public bathrooms (and, definitely, roadside rest stops) became notorious for crime. Drug dealers and drug addicts plied their trade in them. During Prohibition, stalls were used as makeshift distilleries. Serial killers turned them into torture dens. Prostitutes were, especially, known for hovering around public bathrooms as the full stalls kept their machinations out of the public eye. Even in schools, bullies could beat the living daylights out of geeks and nerds in relative safety.

Thus, though the ultimate door style comes down to whoever designs the restroom, the stall doors cannot be fully enclosed, unless the facility is a private place of business or residence. Even then, bars and restaurants follow this rule to prevent lawsuits.

Of course, this does allow pranksters to lock the stall doors from the inside and then crawl out from underneath to confuse users in dire need. Then again, the mere fact that the prankster then has to crawl on the floor of a public bathroom could be seen as punishment enough for their childishness.

How's "How do you do?" different than "How are you doing?"?

Lmao. Your interpretation of our country is hilarious. Good stuff. Our pharmacies don't sell candy haha. Our pharmacies, or many of them are located inside convenient stores, or little market stores.

Garbage disposal units reduce landfills by as much as 22% in the United States and breaks things down to be more bio degradable so actually it is economically valuable

It's not that USA is strange to have single taps, it's about British being strange for having two taps. I didn't see double taps anywhere but in UK, other European countries use single taps just like USA.

The big gap in the toilet stall is for people to see if somebody is in the stall before you go in it. If you try to open the stall you can't see underneath it is embarrassing for the person inside the stall to actually say if they're inside hence the reason of the Gap under the stall. I know it might seem confusing and less of a privacy issue, but its actually helping everybody around the stall and the person inside of it. (Note: the gap is only underneath and is just visible enough to see if someone is in the stall. It doesn't show anything inappropriately at all)
