-------
The electric vehicle world has got used to talking about Tesla in hushed tones, of discussing with each other how Tesla is different to other automakers out there.

Some loyal followers of the brand and its CEO Elon Musk even say Tesla is the automaker destined to change the world forever and kill every last legacy automaker.

So when Musk made some comments this week about changing Tesla's yet-to-launch CYBRTRK, some people had some questions about what would change -- and why it was even needed in the first place.

And in response to that, we felt it was worth explaining why in this case, Tesla is just like every other automaker out there - and that changes -- large and small -- are perfectly normal for any vehicle on its way to production.

Here's our take on the changes, and some of the reasons we think may have led to them in the first place.

The redesign is fine by me. Just get the thing built!

The people who hated it and then liked it are hating it until they like it again

The tweaks don't necessarily reduce the size of the bed or its value as a work truck.

Garages in the us are for storing things not cars :)

Tweaks Tesla does make, but not whole redesigns like the Volt went through at GM.

I would only hope that the production model comes with a flamethrower rack in the cabin.

I know that I'm much more informed now than I was eight minutes ago - thanks you. Now I'll have good think on it.
Thank you so much for sharing...

Looks don’t matter for me it’s all about function.

Most full size pickups cannot be parked in a US garage.

I thought the Cybertruck was a work truck and not a family camper. I have friends who are arborists and landscapers. They all park their full sized F-150s outside and not in a garage.

Let’s worry about Europe’s needs after we fill the near million preorders here. And then maybe Elon could build a Ford Ranger size CyberTruck

4:25 - Designers vs. Engineers: . . . or the engineer determines that the proposed design cannot be easily manufactured or manufactured affordably.

Very interesting insight into product development. Thank you. You have the designer's dream, the engineer's thoughts, and the regulator's demands which lead to the finished vehicle.

The truck isn’t being reduced by more then 6 inches. The best size stays the same

Moving a vehicle from concept to production s like Hollywood turning a book into a film. The final result only bears a passing resemblance to the original.

Honestly, whatever these guys think is best for Tesla and the Cybertruck will be best for me when I get it. If they think smaller is better than so be it.

I think pedestrian safty is the bigger challenge in europe. Blank steel against legs doesn’t sound good to regulators.

Future sustainable and a more evolves transportation also includes mass transit. Would love to see TE cover those topics as well. Not just passenger vehicles. Thank you for the videos.
