Episode 26: Sandy gives us a thorough walk-through of the underside of the mega castings, pointing out characteristics and advantages. We also take a look at extruded aluminum side impact provisions in the sill, potential mounting provisions for an air suspension reservoir, some not-so-good looking welds, and finally we wrap up with a hunt to see whether or not a second foam stuffer cube lives within the passenger side rear quarter.

God I love Your Show. Your Show is a must watch for me. I am a 74 year old retired electrical superintendent and I enjoy attending Your class every day. The unique aspect to your presentation is your critical analysis of engineering and assembly suitability of parts from a strength and simplicity. Now we all know about over the air update for TESLA software. You are part of the continual improvement of mechanical components that are updated and changed. I am betting every technical school and every TESLA employee is required viewing of Your Show.

The camera operator doesn't get enough credit! They're really good with their smooth movements.

I’m a 26 year old IT guy but after looking at these videos, really has me considering switching careers to engineering.

The stuff that goes into manufacturing and even designing what goes into these amazing pieces of machinery is fascinating.

Thank you Sandy, loving the channel!

Sandy Monro is the automotive equivalent of Sherlock Holmes. This has become my favorite YouTube channel over the last couple of weeks. It's fascinating to see how these Teslas are put together.

That casting is absolutely beautiful. An aerospace structural look to it. Clearly shaped by iterative topology optimization design software. It really is incredible what computers can create with some human guidance.

Yeah! Another "Baby Borg Cube". Assimilating sound is what they do best!

Foam Blocks are also used in Gen4 Subaru Legacy Wagons 😊 (2008 in my case). Behind the llittle Subwoofer that the factory 14-speaker McIntosh Sound System came with.
I upgraded my Sub, and found the same type of foam block a few years ago.

Great news about the tow wiring harness hook up! Tesla tried to get me a Model Y last month, but couldn’t tell me anything about the tow hitch, so I declined. I could be driving my own Y if they had just told me this then, dam it!

Its cool show! And great thing is that they listen to fans and answer and implement! Not like the big fancy channels :) TNX A LOT!

There was no need to speed up the 8:20-8:30 part, I enjoy every second of these videos

Sandy is definitely getting into the swing of this presenting to camera stuff. And this Tesla Model Y disassembly just keeps the interest going. The little nugget was that the towing facility should be available to anyone who has bought a Y without it. And that casting is impressive.
