I took the time to extensively diagnose this dodge ram who's heater stopped working. I found a few other issues like a check engine light. the owner informed me it was due to a vacuum line. that's a relief. I think new water pump and thermostat and it shall have heat again! thanks for watching!

Excellent troubleshooting process. That's the way to diagnose a failure!!!! Most mechanics will go for the heater core right off the bat without troubleshooting further or eliminating other issues. Great video.

Last year I flushed the radiator core on my 03 Ford Explorer and that fixed the problem, I will flush the heater core on my 02 Dodge Ram 1500 and see if it fix the no hot air problem. Thanks for your video

I have an 05 1500. The passenger side blows heat but not drivers side. Now the passenger side is not as hot as it should be. Everyone is telling me it’s my actuators and they aren’t opening up all the way. After watching your video, I really don’t believe them now. I will check out my hoses in a bit. Thank you

Think I'm gonna try my water pump. Changed my thermostat. Flushed my heater core. Actuators work. (not so sure about all the doors) inlet to the heater core gets hot, outlet not so hot. Did notice there wasn't much pressure on the inlet hose though so now you got me thinking it's the water pump. (probably gonna be cheaper than changing heater core I'm sure)

My 03 has like warm heat. Always has, it has new radiator, thermostat and water pump in a recent rebuild. My temp stays below half, no leak in floor boards but do smell coolant when I turn the heat on

Thanks Matt. That was very detailed & easily understood. I was ready to replace my heater core. I'm not sure what my problem is with my 2003 yet, but I have a much better idea & know what to check soon as I can get outside again. I'm now a subscriber!

My 2003 ram works ok but no heater since i got it a year ago. So what i did to avoid overheating it i removed center valve on thermostat. Because i drove few milles north an i noticed, stared to raicing temperature.and slow on jammed freeways too. It did helped me alot. So now i think that water pump wasnt new as it looks. Or was defective. . My brother told me could it be fan cluch. But i see it working. Ill change water pump an thermostat. That way i'll discard of the possible issues. If continue the problem.i hope not. Thanks for your help.👍
