I feel so sorry for the Holy Father. I understand some of the criticism that he receives may be fair, but so many people also deliberately omit and/or twist his words either to justify their own sin, or to unfairly criticize him.
Do we trust the Holy Spirit or not? Laity should concern themselves with our own sanctification first.

But by the way he doesn't exactly say "call a Spade a Spade"...

A more exact r better translation would be
" we have to
Call the things the right/correct names"

Another words. We love that person, comfort that person still. but dnt jus ignore the sin of what that person did. So we have to "call it for what it really is"

He actually just telling us to acknowledge the sin that people are committing...

I think this is perhaps a lot of some people's problem with Pope Francis. Instead of dropping the hammer and condeming, he rejects falsehoods in LOVE. Some consider this liberal or sugarcoating, but to me this is truly Christ-like. You lose the sinner by shaming them to hell and back, but you can guide them to repentance by receiving them, understanding them, and pointing them towards truth. They will stay or go, but the sinner has no chance if they're under the impression that they must become perfect before they can step foot in a church. Praise God for mercy.
