Sunday and Robin are so well written, they are essentially two side of the same coin. I also really love the portrayal of his childhood trauma and how it affected his mindset...absolute PEAK 😭

Sunday had an overly protective motherly vibe towards humans, like he's watching over children who cant quite fend for themselves. He probably saw humans as fragile which made him step into that role of protecting everyone in a dream.

His intention to keep humans in the dream was not born out of malice, but out of an overwhelming desire to shield humanity from pain and suffering. Like a parent who shelters a child too much.

Because of the charminey dove incident, he like a guardian didn't believe that letting go of the hand is the only way for someoen to learn how to stand.

In a way, sunday's actions can be seen as a tragic misinterpretation of love. He thought he was saving humanity from their own fragility, but in doing so, he stripped them of what made them human. This is a crux of his motherly nature, an overwhelming need to nurture and protect, even if it meant making decisions on behalf of others.

Sunday wasn't evil, he was a guardian who loved humanity so fiercely that he sought to shield them from pain, creating a dream meant to be their sanctuary, yet in his devotion, he unknowingly sacrificed their freedom.

It's a tragic reminder that even the purest intentions can cast the darkest shadows.

unlike Robin, his whole life was trapped in a cage called penacony and gopher wood's ideal took roots deep within him. because of that, his noble goal lacked in means to achieve it, leaving him in contradictions and confusion. I'm glad he goes with the crew, not the IPC, so he can have a clearer view of the worlds and maybe clear his tainted name. sadly Jade is not the type of person who let things go without a gain on her end

Sunday grew up in Penacony, spending awfully lot time in the dream. At some point he seemed to really lost contact with "reality". He didn't travel much outside, he was constantly surrounded by the same people, problems arising in Penacony and him in the end becoming the head of the family and shouldering everything by himself. I don't think he had any space to reflect on what he was doing. He really needed that wake-up call and a way to get out from that place. He never really truly lived.
Hopefully his travel with the nameless won't stop soon. I want to see his growth as a character. He is the best written character in the whole game.

Sunday looks like Ayato, had the role of Raiden in the story and the character development of Scara. They really put so much into this character. Such a masterpiece.

Sunday is just so well written, it's really hard to not love this man. I feel like in my opinion, Sunday is a character that developed the most out of all the Penacony characters; aside from Aventurine (Who's also had great character development). Sunday went from being the one trying to create a paradise that actually worked for a time, to one that lost everything by being rammed by a train and by the Astral Express and also being in prison. Now, he's trying to renew and start all over again while also trying to repent for all he's done til now.

Sunday can learn to grow now and honestly, it feels like he's on a journey of healing and inspiration of finding his true paradise. I may have said too much, but I really can't help but talk about it, cause I love Sunday way too much.

My only problem with Penacony is that the dialogue for me, and others, failed to get this story across. Even as I watched this video I had to re-word some things in my head to understand it better. Either way this video cleared up a lot of things for me so thanks! Hopefully the dialogue in Amphoreus will be much more clearer.

Reminds me of Buzz Lightyear quote : "This isn't flying, this is falling with style"

I seriously suspect that these things that happened to Sunday and Robin were somehow planned by Wood. The dove wasn't a local bird for example. And somehow GW is always somewhere there in the shadows. I wouldn't be surprised if shooting Robin wasn't his doing as well. Maybe not direct but still. He used the more sensitive child as his pawn, playing with his honest feelings. Its an absolute tragedy that left Sunday scarred for life. I hope he can regain his true self on the express and start healing.

One can say if you want to truly to be healed from the wound it is a journey of vulnerability and opening oneself to infinite possibilities 😊

Sunday is basically victim of years and years of grooming

Gopher Wood had plans for both Sunday and Robin which fit their different mindsets. Robin however deviated from Old Man Wood's plans as she became more attuned to Harmony and moved away from Order while Sunday fell further into it as he saw how Penacony had became more corrupted overtime as he learned to utilize Order. I do believe Sunday had also believed in Harmony and in Xipe for a long time even though he was fulfilling the wishes of Order until that moment where he heard of Robin getting shot in the neck was the breaking point.

There was another video I saw of this that is titled how Sunday and Robin don't understand each other and it gives other details as how the siblings have changed and how Robin has grown stronger than Sunday and eventually Sunday leaves Penacony with no worries as he sees his sister no longer has a need for his protection.

Seeing Sunday’s character on full display it actually isn’t too far off from mine. I’ve even… always dreamed of having a sister growing up to. Pipe organs have always been one of my favorite instruments as well, either conveying grand bliss or terrifying tragedy in my tastes… Penacony’s very concept freaks me out though so Sunday just ends up feeling like a superficial version of me in the end.

Mmm, creepy.

Remind me of scaramouche, even the blue-white outfit. But scramouche’s act is more about selfishness, which was rooted from him not being created with a heart + being tricked by dottore. I’ve seen many anime tropes about good guy being a baddie after their innocent self got broken that hard (Nagato, Obito) so I can relate to scaramouche. While ini sunday’s case, well, he never be that evil guy to begin with. In contrast, he is a good guy from the start, just being blinded by his perspectives towards his people

I really appreciate this video. I’ve enjoyed and understood most of Sunday’s arc, but failed to piece together that the Watchmaker’s question was actually just a personal challenge to Sunday (and Gopher Wood before him, presumably).

It felt strange to me that in a story arc that was such a brilliant commentary on nihilism, they echoed the question “Why do people slumber”, which bluntly, seems really obvious to most people. But it wasn’t to Sunday, groomed to see the world in a specific light from a very young age. So that question was less important for the story arc as a whole, and more for Sunday’s character arc.

Ngl I hated Sunday at first. To me he felt arrogant and controlling and like he was trying to prove that his view was the only right view. But with the latest Trailblaze mission I've come to respect him a lot. He's doing his best to right his wrongs and he's not expecting people to just forgive him. He's an amazingly well written character and I really like him now

1:21. Where did you even het this info? He wasn't "not good" at singing, it's just one time he ate an egg tart before his singing lesson, and that made his voice sound hoarse. There is simply no indication he was particularly worse than her at singing.
