How I Run Rails 7 On Windows 11 | Ruby On Rails WSL With GUI Setup Guide

I've decided to cover how I set up my development environment on Windows for Ruby on Rails. This is far easier than using the Windows installer approach!

This tutorial covers installing WSL 2 on Windows 11, installing RBEnv and Ruby, and finally installing Ruby on Rails 7 and creating a hello world blog.

Decided to create a tutorial on installing and setting up Rails the way that I do on Windows. I've seen so many "Why it no work on Windows" posts recently, so hopefully this'll answer how I do it lol.
Also decided to cover this neat trick that lets you have a WSL GUI to use apps like Libre Office on Windows, which is really cool.

Side note: It's possible to open the file explorer in a WSL directory without installing GWSL. You just have to run "explorer.exe [path to directory here]", although you need it if you want to run a GUI Linux app

Excellent video, very helpful. I'm able get code on wsl to launch rails like you have it. Only issue I'm facing is I am unable to debug and hit breakpoints. I think this is because I'm on Ruby 2.5.6
