Used to fish Mission Bay in San Diego at night from an inflatable. Used a white, or white and green rubber jig. You tear up the sand bass and kelp bass. Occasionally a halibut. Lots of fun.

Night fishing is so so so much better than daytime fishing.

I started using homemade extreme stink baits at night and those work great, my buddy got me on these glow-in-the-dark lures at nighttime, depending where you are they work great.
Surefire way to catch catfish anywhere though, take chicken breast cut it into quarters and let it sit out for awhile let it get nice and gross smelling for like half the day but don't put it in the sun otherwise it will get all cooked. The meat holds together better than the chicken livers. Add something about letting it sit out all day they love that smell of salmonella

I have done a LOT of inshore night fishing and day fishing.... I finally came this conclusion. You'll catch the same amount and quality of fish while fishing in the day as the night. Some days are great and so are some nights. Some days you get skunked and some nights you get skunked.
I like night fishing better because there's 95, % less people on the water and no sun. But... the bugs can be worse. So I changed from wearing hats and sunglasses to wearing bug spray and a headlamp with EMPTY fishing spots.

Im usually a bass fisherman, but once every year i go to be a councilor at a camp where they do catch and reliese trout. My issue is i cant get them to stop swallowing the hook, i use powerbait and spinners. Got any recommendations on how to stop this?
