I listened to this song in middle school, back in 2014. At that time, I thought I was a lesbian and the lyrics really resonated with my experience. I listened to this song time and time again, because it helped me feel validated in a world in which I felt most people wouldn't understand me.

I came out as non binary and bisexual a couple years ago and started my transition. And a year ago I started dating my best friend from middle school, who came out as a trans women. She introduced me to The Orion Experience with the song "Cult of Dionysus". And thanks to her, this song came up in my recommended and I listened to it. Jenny, the same song from my middle school days and yet so different. It makes me think of how far I've come. It makes me feel pride.

Anyway, I love my girlfriend, I love that we are both trans and I love how my sexuality and gender feel like a never ending journey of self discovery, filled with joy... And I love this song.

Man. Im usually not super big on covers, because they tend to suffer from the "This is good, but it makes me want to listen to the original" experience. But this doesn't do that. I think it's because it almost gives it a slightly more somber longing sorta feeling. Love it.
