If you share something on the internet, assume it's public.

The fact he's using similar vocal ranges as Chuck is bugging me so much... I do respect the efforts though.

A proxy doesn’t protect a website from seeing your information, it simply reroutes your traffic so that they can see your packet’s metadata (as your isp would) and the website would see the proxy’s ip rather than your own

Chrome using external proxies messed up our users' connection to non public websites while they are in the internal network. We have a local DNS that resolves correctly those names but Chrome thinks it is smarter and uses an external proxy. There was 2 options, 1) change the Chorme setting one by one on each computer to not do that or 2) at the router, block DNS traffic going outside so Chrome is forced to behave and use the internal DNS provides thru DHCP as everything is expected to work.

You forgot the part where Google sells that information back to the websites :)

Good messaging, but the delivery.. whoa. Trying too hard to sound like Chuck, just be yourself man.. it will come off more authentic.

Google's proxies are probably a good thing for average joe that connects on public wi-fi networks and the like, by adding a layer of security against MITM attacks.

For the tech savvy - having a VPN to your home network likely works well enough for most cases, given that most places that it will matter what data you are sending to you probably log into in some way shape or form anyways.

If you really care about privacy - then, you need a browser that looks indistinguishable, and to leverage onion routing. And even this is not perfect for a variety of reasons.
