The Fake Atlantic Wall House Bunkers - Landfront Vlissingen.

These bunker were part of Stützpunkt Krimhild Landfront Vlissingen,
in the town of Vlissingen, here you will find the only German build bunker that was completely restored to what it would have looked like back in 1944.

It has a Saddleback roof, several painted on windows and doors, and a fake chimney, (the chimney is actual original)
this bunker was restored in 2014 and it's now part of a small playground, all this was mainly
done by Festungwalcheren which is a organisation that helps to preserve these fortification for the next generation.

Landfront Vlissingen would consisted of a 8 klimometer long anti-tank wall backed by concrete bunker positions. This bunker would have been part of position Ritthem, and was a command bunker for the surrounding bunkers .the actual tank ditch, would have stopped here and would be replaced by dragon teeth.

today most of the bunkers are gone and only a small part of dragon teeth are left.

Great to hear you again and thank you for a fascinating video of these unusual survivors. By putting the Canadian forces on the left on D-Day, they had to do all the port and coastal defence attacks for the rest of the war. Very tough assignments.

I'm really glad that you are back in action but I didn't realise how hard the the windstorm actually was and the same windstorm hitted the southern part of Sweden that that knocked down trees and created damage. That said I find this video very interesting depicting some bunkers camouflaged as houses including fake roofs. Good job again always 👍👍👍

Leuke video! Ben je al een keer in Katwijk in brabant (niet die aan zee dus) geweest? En in Mill? Op beide locaties is hevig gevochten en daar is nu nog veel van te zien.. In Katwijk zijn de kazematten vernietigd door 88mm en 37mm geschut(staan er nu nog) en in mill staan er nog veel die beschoten/uitgeschakelt zijn door 37mm geschut. Ook is er in Mill een pantsertrein ontspoort en daar ligt nu nog een stuk spoor met de restanten van de versperring waar de trein op gebotst is, omringt met kazematten. Beiden mooie locaties in de zomer!

The German point of view in the Normandy and northern Euopean campaigns is sadly neglected. I understand that nobody cares about "the bad guys", but by neglecting the other side you don't do justice to the savagery of the fighting or the sacrifice of the allied troops. This is an emerging field of WWII history, but it seems that the poor condition of the German fortifications is just a symptom of this neglect. Thanks for showing us some of these bunkers.
