No, we haven't all seen the compass-to-test-a-really method. Awesome idea, but... technology has been updated lately, lol. Can't wait to see some more of your videos :)
Edit: "this is hooked up to 240 volts"... then you proceed to be part of the circuit with that tester at 4:00... BALLS to try it, lol. I'd do it, but I'm dumb.

That's a helpful tip. I use those no contact tools all the time in residential electrical... good ways to utilize it in small equipment or vehicles. Thanks Dave!

I have a black screwdriver like one for 12 volt I have to hold the button and it shows a flash on a tini lcd or what ever the hell display. It has no battery so must use the power from contacting the screwdriver blade about size one blade. I have this since about 1990 or so.

Can this magnetic field tester get the magnetic field through the insulation of a wire with 12 or 24 VDC? A lot of times I have to puncture a wire to check if it gets voltage through. These are usually small currents (1 A or similar) when I'm checking whether an electronic engine is getting a keyswitch signal or not. Magnetic field is present when the current is going through the wire, but I'm not sure if the field is strong enough for the tester to pick up.
If you could check this and reply, I would be most grateful.
