I am absolutely rolling as Zoe, Alfie, and Mark talk earnestly about making friends while the fight scene from Bridget Jones plays behind them and they have no idea 🤣🤣 Too good!

My 9 year old son happened to come across a mom putting her elf out on YouTube. He told me about it and said “you know I think some kids don’t get elf’s so their moms have to go buy one and move it around so the kids think they have an elf” and I was like YEP, YOURE SO RIGHT 😅😅

This bonus video means the world to me this Christmas. This Christmas Day was the worst adult Christmas Day I have ever had and spent alone. Your Vlogmas has really helped me this year. Thanks also for sharing the friendship tips. I'm in my 50's and disabled and it is so difficult to make friends these days. Thanks so much guys, you're amazing 🥰

Having the biggest laugh at Zoe Alfie and Mark having the most serious conversation about making friends and in the back there's the TV of a scene where people are fighting eachother 😂😂😂😂 it's so comical I can't 😂😂😂

For next years elf, you guys should do the one where you catch the elf moving and show Ottie the video! Might give her a better understanding of the elf “watching her”. Merry Christmas !!!

Honestly, I can relate to Ottie—I was the same way when I was her age. My parents tried, just like you, but I never fully believed the elf moved. It was similar to how I figured out the mall Santas weren’t the real Santa. I asked so many questions that my parents eventually had to tell me I was right: they were just Santa’s helpers. Even that explanation didn’t hold up for long because I kept asking, “How can Santa be in so many malls at the same time if there’s only one of him?”

Like Zoe mentioned, I was better at imagining things that weren’t right in front of me, like fairies, rather than something physical like the elf. My brain naturally pulled things apart and analyzed them, which made it hard for me to just go along with certain stories. Honestly, I think it might be because I was clever for my age. As an only child, I interacted mostly with adults, and being the oldest cousin, I didn’t have much interaction with other kids. By the time I was seven, my youngest cousin was just born, and by 14, I was still the “big kid” in the family. This left me feeling more comfortable talking to adults than kids my own age, which made me mature faster and develop stronger critical thinking skills.

Looking back now at 20, I can see that my parents and other adults spoke to me differently than they did to most kids, and that shaped the way I processed things. It even used to bother me when they talked to other kids “like kids” because I felt like they were talking down to them or treating them as if they were dumb. I could tell they were using a different tone and approach, and it frustrated me because I thought, “They’re not stupid; why are you talking to them like that?” But now I understand it wasn’t about intelligence—it was about tailoring their words to the child’s comprehension level. I just happened to be ahead for my age, so I picked up on that difference and didn’t need the same approach.

All this to say, Ottie might just be an exceptionally clever girl, raised by two intelligent parents surrounded by other smart people. It makes sense that she’s fostering critical thinking skills earlier than most kids her age!
