Peak voltage is a voltage waveform that is measured from the horizontal axis at the 0 height reference mark to the top of the waveform, known as the crest of the waveform.
It is important to note that there is a distinction between peak voltage and peak-to-peak voltage. Peak voltage measures the positive peak starting at the 0 reference line, while peak to peak measures the full waveform from the lowest peak negative voltage to the highest peak positive voltage. This means that the peak-to-peak voltage tends to be double the value of the peak voltage.
