In this video, you'll learn what is peak MIN/MAX and how to use it on the Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter.

With the peak Min/Max feature, you are able to capture electrical transients as short as 250 µS on different types of waveforms otherwise missed when using normal MIN/MAX. Simply press the MIN/MAX button and then the peak MIN/MAX button to activate the peak MIN/MAX function on your Fluke 87V Multimeter.

The Fluke 87V Industrial Multimeter provides the resolution and accuracy to efficiently troubleshoot motor drives, plant automation, power distribution, and electromechanical equipment even in loud, high energy, and high altitude locations. A low pass filter supports accurate frequency measurements on VFDs and captures intermittents as fast 250 µS.

Correctly measure pulse-width modulated motor drive signals

The Fluke 87V takes the guesswork out of drive system troubleshooting. It includes a unique function for accurately measuring noisy at the VFD and at the motor terminals. Special shielding blocks high frequency, high-energy noise generated by large drive systems.

Electrical safety

All the inputs in the 87V are updated to the third and CAT III, 1000V. They are designed to withstand spikes in excess of 8,000V.

IMHO it is necessary to explain the HOLD function in conjunction with Min/Max function, as, the Min will be lost if the meter is disconnected before holding the recording by using the HOLD function.

Hi I am a Outboard Motor technician, we used to use a special tool called Peak Voltage Adaptor for checking charging system, so can I just use this peak min/max function alone without using the special tool?
