What I find so interesting about the discussion around Fields vs. Williams is the fact that their college careers are so different. But people somehow use Caleb’s tape to say he’s a bust, while ignoring all the red flags Justin had when he was drafted from Ohio State. For all the negatives in Caleb’s game, you can find an equal amount in Justin’s tape too. And Justin played at a top-5 college football team that had NFL studs all over the place. Caleb has been dealing with a horrendous OL for two years at USC. The defense is essentially non-existent, and they have no good run game either. Yet he put up numbers that blow Justin out of the water, and a direct comparison of the tape is night and day if you take the time to really look at it.

I see he’s on point for the most part. And he commits to his decisions once it’s made up Justin hesitates bc he’s thinking too much.

caleb williams is the most overhated generational prospect I’ve ever seen in college sports!! majority of football fans dont like him so rn its cool to nipick the hell out his game and pray on his downfall 😭But lemme be the one to say you're football iq has to be called in to question if you watch tape from games like this one and cant see he's CLEARLY going to be successful at the next level.... world class arm talent, has great consistency playing within the scheme hitting his layups and is supremely gifted making difficult throws look easy... in a year or two coming back to this so I can get a good laugh at the comments

I think this game is evident how little Caleb's WR's helped him and its absurd that two of them MIGHT get drafted. Rice creates zero separation and on fade routes gives no room to win on throws. literally he's damnear running out of bounds on his fade routes and hitches. Unless this is by design, this is terrible.

Outside of Z. Branch, not one of the receivers on USC will amount to much in the NFL, they can't seem to get open and Caleb is literally all on his own out there. #13 is Special and BUST PROOF!

Why are so many people in the comments saying that he will bust?

Fields gets out of a lot of sacks by using his rare athletic ability. This game looks like it’s moving so slow. NFL is a different speed

Well thanks for posting this. Bc I can't find really only a few games of Caleb Williams all plays. Mostly been thinking this guy looks like a superstar at times. It's kinda hard to scout this dude. But looking at Notre Dame and this game. Guys got a lot to improve on. Has a great deep ball and looks like a natural passer at first but there's something not complete. Def holding the ball and running around for no reason. Just looks inexperienced in the pocket at times like he doesn't no what to do with the football. He's looking down field for a green light but there no way Caleb is going to be able to dazzle around and play slow in the NFL. Just game looks lazy. Idk.... Not impressed. May have to rethink my evaluation with Caleb.

I just don’t see it !! I don’t think his play will translate to the NFL. Buyer beware 🚨

Its not Caleb, its the receivers that wont get open lol

He looks like a Justin Fields with a quicker release, and a little less hesitation. Makes passes Justin would probably avoid (highlighting a difference in arm talent). Still hangs onto the ball too long like Justin but O-Line and receivers should get some blame for that.
I hope Caleb doesn't plan on holding the football like a loaf of bread, when he gets to the pros. Because he's going to fumble - A LOT - like Justin.

Im not a hater but Caleb Willians is not that good. Kyler Murray at best

Doesn’t take what defense gives. When he really has to use that brain instead of his his given talent it’s like he’s stuttering to think clearly. Not a fan of the player damn sure not one of the person either he will be a bust and what do I mean by bust? Look at TLaw all talent no brains might be a serviceable qb but I’m using bust as in WILL NEVER LIVE UP TO THE HYPE. Luck was the last one who lived up to that generation consensus number one over pick hype to date

Brenden Rice is really good but I just don't get why people love Williams so much. He is so uncomfortable in the pocket and looks to get out of it as soon as the ball is snapped. The USC OL wasn't great but he tried to do too much too often. If I were teams I'd play him like how KC played the Ravens. Create a pocket and just collapse it and don't let him outside of it. He isn't very accurate and a lot of those big throws he makes are to wide open guys from blown coverage which will happen less in the NFL. He clearly has some talent but he isn't the God people make him out to be. If he goes to a team with a terrible OL like Washington then he is going to look like a bust real quick.

No I’m not trading away Fields for this. Fields might have the stronger arm. Fields can throw some pinpoint passes as well. Fields is more dangerous off script. Caleb has a quicker release and might be more decisive which may lead to better accuracy and even slightly better and more consistent QB play than Fields. I can admit that but they both have a ton more upside. Fields has NFL experience, leadership, chemistry with Moore/Kmet, Chicago Tough, bigger, stronger, faster, better runner, stronger arm and still cheap for two more seasons. We can literally give Fields Harrison and Bowers/Nabors to work with. Plus another top 5 pick potentially next year and try to fleece Washington for Jonathan Allen ALL for Caleb. From what I just saw it’s not enough to move off Fields.

Half way through this and 3 things besides his obvious gifts and USC's terrible online really standout. 1. He's not willing to stand tall in the pocket. 2. His footwork is terrible. 3. And I'm starting to question Lincoln Riley's coaching. Mayfield and Murray havent lived up to expectations in the NFL and Hurts was developed at Alabama. He's a good o.c. but all of his qb's lack footwork.

Going to be a major bust. At least the bears will continue to get too picks in the draft

Looks small and will be injury prone if he runs around like that in the NFL. His rhythm and timing based throws look mostly off in this game. I only see a few throws completed that are 2 seconds or less. Most of his completions he held it for about 6 seconds. He’s fast so he’ll have chances to do that in the NFL but nowhere near the amount that he has in college. A lot of BYU-Zach Wilson type stuff on his tape, except he’s faster.

I don’t understand the hype. This looks like hot garbage and won’t work any better in the nfl.
