It's nice that you want to help singles. However, many singles are hurting deeply. So many like me have waited for years trusting God. The advice is very general. Singles need empathy and more recognition and help inside the church especially. Something is wrong when multiples of women in the church are singles for years and years. Mostly no men are in church. Singles are not prayed for in church or supported. Ultimately, only God can do it for a person. There is so much focus on preserving and healing marriages. Rightly so, but would anyone join singles and really, truly see their heartfelt issues and help them in their struggles? There is deep loneliness for years and weariness waiting for years. Also singles shouldn't be shamed and always telling singles that they shouldn't make marriage an idol. That is so unfair when many singles have waited for years and years and many others waited 2-5 years to get married with much less waiting.

8 years ago I made a list of characteristics that I wanted in a husband it was characteristics that my great grandfather had and I prayed over it for 8 months and I believed God would answer those prayers and he did. My husband and I have been together for 8 years out of those 8 years we've been married for 3 years and he is everything that I prayed for.

I remember the day I gave up and gave it to God!! I was treated with so much disrespectful from the age of 4, the day I gave God control of my love life. I sit down outside on a sunny day in 2009 I was crying and I started to pray, "God, I am tired. Please help me, help me to be with a man that will love me and not hurt me. God I give you control of my life. Lord, send me a man that you want me to be with?! In your name Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen!" I gave it all to God to send me a husband and a man to treat me the way I should be treated. I met my husband in 2012, we started off as friends because, I was dating his old roommate. Then, the day that my old boy friend kicked me out of my car with my one year old at the police station, told me to fine my way home. I lived 4 hours from my parents house. I called my dad what happened and he dropped everything to come. It was going to be a long wait. So I texted my friend ( now husband) and he was going to drop everything to take me home. I told him that it was fine and my dad was on the way. He waited with me until my dad showed up. From that day, we started dating. He would drive that 4 hours to see me every weekend. Long story short we got married in 2015 and have been married 8 years now. So that day I gave God control, He open my eyes to a great man and husband. ❤

I had a long list. And I prayed for 10 years. God sent me that person . I knew right away when I met him. He was also a very devoted christian. We had a heavenly relationship.

But the 3 years into my marriage my husband died of sickness. I am doing very well right now thanks to the grace of god. But I sometimes wonder what it was God was trying to do..

Please Please please do not settle. Not worth it! Someone i know married this man she settled. Found out 1 year later this guys entire life was a lie. I do believe God cares about our lives. I remember Hannah crying out to the Lord for a baby her husband thought she was loosing it. God fulfilled her desire. He will do the same for us. I feel for all of us singles. I will be 60 this month. 60 and waiting on the Lord some days i feel like Hannah and others days i feel so honored that i am married to the King of Kings. For the singles who have listed their grievances, have you considered the delay could be your murmuring and complaining? Have you forgotten that God needs to be using you to align you and your spouse? A man going to church faithfully does NOT automatically make him a husband. We must get rid of the idolatry of a husband or just marriage in general being an idol so that God can get the glory from your union...Our goal should be staying in His bossom and loving him until He presents you before your husband. If God who can do the impossible is making you wait, there may still be work He's doing to prepare you both ❤ He hears our prayers and he is orchestrating a lasting love! Congratulations in advance 🎉
