'I have trouble believing in God' - Ask Dr. Stanley

An eight-year-old boy wrote in for advice about his doubts.

I had doubted our savior for so many years. I said many times Lord show me a sign and I never saw it. Then I got back into the church and started living my life as God would have me too and I look back on ALL the signs he DID show me and the more time in prayer I spend the more I feel his power. Y'all be blessed!

As a man of logic, I want to believe in god. I want to believe in something that doesn’t rely on logic to fill up my empty gaps in my life, but I can’t. My family is heavily religious, yet I don’t have faith.

For me, it is not doubting that God exists. I sometimes doubt His goodness.

It been hard for my children to believe in the Lord as hard this world is in darkness and sin my kids don't see the light but I pray that God will open their eyes and that they will believe in him and they will know the things that I say is truth about God

I have been agnostic for many years after a lot of research but I need to believe because I need purpose after so much devestating loss. I have increasingly been in worse and worse situations. I am broken & turned to him. I asked him to help me through Jesus and the holy ghost. I believe he is working in me. It hasn't happened overnight but I know he heard me, he did because I was broken & gave myself to him. I will begin reading the bible again yet admit I have a lot of issues with it. I am hoping they disappear as I pursue this relationship. Pray for me if you feel inclined to do so & thank you if you do. 💔

Thank God He wants us to believe in Him and that He will help us. I wouldn't be where I am on my path to believing in Him again if it wasn't for the tugging on my heart and His guidance and grace. I've had multiple extreme panic attacks about Hell and about the Rapture coming before He might save me and grant me faith, but I'm still holding on with believing He will help me along the journey. Fortunately God loves us more than we can imagine and will help us so much for Him to save us by grace.

God uses Charles Stanley incredibly .I've been watching him since 1997 when I 1st gave my heart and now at 41 my life completely to God and Jesus for their usens NOT my own .I'm 41 STILL looking 28..I look like what I've been through that's for sure. Sometimes i have weird doubts that i do not want to have i believe that jesus died but sometimes my mind tells me otherwise i hate these doubts i have i pray it makes me become a better christian
