For anyone discovering this video now in 2022, Jeremy’s trick for step length at 11:20 in the vid is for the tape track, but it’s also sustain for notes and chords on the synth channels. If you want sustained chords, you can hold the step and hit your chord real quick to enter it and then hold the step and hit the next step you want the sustain to release on. These vids are life savers! Just got my OP-Z today.

This video is as good as any to post this...

The YouTube algorithm decided I needed to know about your OP-1 videos and in the space of less than a week from that discovery I now have an OP-1 and OP-Z in my hands and 2x POs (33 & 35) on the way.

RIP my wallet but thanks for inspiring me to finally make the transition from instrumentalist to EDM producer.

Your videos are amazingly helpful and your OP-1 albums are an inspiration.

my favorite part is that I was gonna make a stupid comment asking what's on that cheeky coaster in the bottom right, but I decided to watch the whole video first, and was rewarded with an uncropped view of the desk in the end card

it's the best time to be a OPZ owner! I got the gist of the device by myself but these videos really help me go granular on this little thing. the invisible steps when setting a higher bar count and the fact that the p-locks are still on their own 1 bar grid completely escaped me.

Amazing video as usual. The sequencer and the step components are what making the OP-Z so powerful. I’ve been using it a sequencer to trigger Ableton resulting in some crazy odd metered tracks. I have to start using the automation more. Thanks.

Just got an OP-Z about a week ago and love it. I have watched almost every YouTube video available on this device and I gotta say I haven’t seen anyone who can make this thing sing like you can, that techno set was amazing... excellent work. Love these videos dude keep em coming. Also thank you for making videos using the iPad. I don’t understand why more people don’t use a screen.... especially for tutorials. I find the tutorials with out use of a screen make learning difficult so thanks again for being one of the few guys out there doing it!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Can't wait to get my opz... I know I'll be watching all these videos a dozen times when it finally gets here.

Regarding increasing the step length (6.00), another limitation is that track polyphony is defined as polyphony PER STEP. So the chord track only allows 4 note polyphony PER STEP. So if you increase step length, you may run into issues where polyphony gets cut off.

If only they made a sequencer like this in a Beatstep Pro style unit. I'd be all over it! I can't get into the teeny tiny buttons but the features are awesome.

I just looked up to try to remember the drum machine you used during your "Flailing" videos. and here I see you've uploaded a new video just 15 minutes prior. Guess I'm kicking back for 13 minutes.

Nice vid with great overview. Just missed: Sequencing/editing Velocity with trig+Pitch Bend, Nudging microsteps with trig+(-/+), Length with trig+endpoint, Nudging sequence with trig+(-/+) and all the copyimg of seq, settings, tracks with p+shift.

Hi Jeremy - love the vids as always. If i may make a quick helpful suggestion (apologies if you already did this) - do your viewers know that the knobs aren’t standard - it looks like you either ordered them separately or 3d printed them. thanks for all the great content :)

Why does your all seeing eye light up between 1:04 and 1:05??

but then how do you make longer songs and patterns when you don't have control of the trigs as you increase the step length? like a 4 bar chord progression with a melody on top. do you work around this? as in making several patterns to switch between or do you know of a more ergonomic method?

how do you sequence say 64 steps when the rate reduces as you do so? i mean how do you control the 16th notes of a hihat as you increase the step length? anyone know this?

Very random question but I haven't seen this answered before. Where do you get your high quality 3.5mm cables? Google has not served me well here.
