In case you're wondering, since 1979, only 6 teams made the playoffs after starting 0-3 (81 NYJ, 82 TB, 92 SD, 95 DET, 98 BUF, and 18 HOU) and only the Chargers in 92 went 0-4 managed to make it to the playoffs.

I think Rich forgot about the Bengals. They definitely need to win more than the Panthers, Giants or Falcons.

Teams to start 0-3 and make the playoffs since 1980 is 4 total or %2.5 and only one team in the super Bowl era has started 0-4 and then made the playoffs (1992 Chargers finished 11-5). All of these teams had a significant change to kick start their season from these abysmal starts, like key players coming back from injury.

Two games may not seem like a lot, but it's ~12% of the season. In the NBA and NHL that's 10 games and in MLB it's 19 games. So it's not really surprising that going 2-0 vs 0-2 can make or break a season.

The 2007 NYGiants started 0-2 losing their 2 opening games to the Cowboys and Packers the same 2 teams they defeated to win the NFC Championship and on to the Super Bowl to knock off the unbeaten Patriots.

It’s amazing how fast a season is over in this league. Cuz when you’re bad you’re just bad and everyone knows it. That you’re just so underpowered in key spots that the team is limited. Best and hardest league id say in all sports.. it’s just unbelievable how tough it is
